Why is it so fucking hard? Even using save states I keep getting game overs over and over and over and over and over.

Boomers are fucking retarded.

Anon, this game is piss easy and gives you every tool in the fucking book to succeed. Play SMB1 if you want a genuine challenge.

Version difference is like 1 hit which is irrelevant because you should basically never take damage in this game anyway. I could beat it on snes in like 2h if I emulated it today.

I really don't know what to tell you. if you compare smw to other nes/snes/genesis platformers it's very generous. just play more side scrollers and git gud. also using save states is cheating so you didn't beat it.

>"YEAH I KNOW WHAT HARD GAMES ARE"
>proceeds to admit to playing games in an entirely different genre than super mario world
Are you sure about that? Because SMW is universally considered a fairly easy game, it's very... very forgiving on mistakes and the level design does not challenge you in any capacity until the freakin' bonus levels in Star Road.

Also additional checkpoints, the ability to always save, Luigi mode which makes the extra worlds easier.

Have you gotten the cape? You can fly and hover your jumps with it, and spin to attack enemies and spin the spinning blocks.
Also touching enemies hurts you, falling into pits or lava kills you, and running out of time kills you, too, so don't do that.
Hope this helps!

HOW DID BOOMERS BEAT IT!!??

6/26/2025, 8:03:01 PM No.713724710
Boomers only had a couple of games and played them over and over again. Old games are all about pattern memorization so they get exponentially easier the more times you play them. This is why new players have difficulty with games that are universally regarded as "easy".

There's some path you can take to get to Bowser's place and then you go through the correct doors in his castle and you'll be able to beat the game in under an hour, maximum.

Not really. Some games require you to develop skills or have good reflexes or adapt to new situations. Old games had limited resources so all you could do is have the same obstacles and enemies with limited AI in the same spots.

It's a great game that's totally worth beating. The Star Road levels are great fun, too.
