The remaster should run more consistently on modern systems and fixes some technical issues that you might run into with the old one, like high/inconsistent framerates fucking up certain missions.
I still managed a compete coop playthrough without too many issues in the original earlier this year, but there were a couple missions we had to rerun several times. From what I remember my friend kept crashing at the same point on a helicopter escort mission and there was another we kept having to restart because an NPC driver's pathfinding was fucked. There was a certain point where my weapon upgrade investments reset for no apparent reason, but money gain snowballs hard so that wasn't a big deal to reinvest.

I mean if we're being serious. Both Nier games are fetch quests slobs and Automata has the most basic ass story.

I at least appreciate the atmosphere and emotional moments in Replicant a lot more. It even starts out with a kino level up to 99 intro you don't find out the context for until late into the game.

Dirt cheap. Tactical turn-based roguelite with pretty good customizability. Short playtime and somewhat repetetive missions, but lots of robbits to unlock and it's REALLY cheap. I only spent a few hours in it, but that's because I got sidetracked. It should have several dozen hours in it at least.

FTL-like. Slightly janky, slightly buggy, but quite fun and completely undeservably bashed for the food mechanics because players don't know how to read. I only have 16 hours in it because I'm taking a break from it, but it has a lot more. Pretty cheap.
I was also going to recommend Risk of Rain Returns but Take Two finally established their ownership of the game and introduced a "FUCK YOU WE CAN STEAL YOUR MONEY" EULA to it, so I can't in good conscience recommend it.
