It's really overblown to the point that I'm starting to suspect a rival company must be behind it. Especially when you look at sales figures and see the intense online hatred of Nintendo isn't reflected at all in the real world.

I think anti-Nintendo sentiment started getting really rabid last year after Palworld came out. If you follow the money, Palworld was a day one Game Pass game and was heavily marketed by Microsoft... Who are also strangely reluctant about supporting Switch 2 despite putting every game on PS5 now, and who are launching their own handheld which they want to compete with Nintendo later this year. I'd bet good money that Microsoft is responsible for at least some of the anti-Nintendo astroturfing.

Anti-Japan forces have been in absolute full swing this year (including Nintendo's own NOA trying to ban Japanese games). The failure of Concord, Ass Shadows etc has them like cornered animals.

Which not only turned out to be false (the update was just to fix backwards compatibility), it also turned out you could install updates through game carts that needed it.
Azuma for example does in fact include a filmware update with the cart and piratefags were shitting their pants over the filmware automatically updating itself to play the game.

Switch 2 edition games are $80 and there's no chance they'll pass up on that pricing for other games in the future. I never said $90 games were an issue, just pointing out that $80 games are still outrageous.

If you use a mig cart (a mod less intrusive than jailbreaking) on a Switch 2 it gets banned from all online use. Per the article: "Attempting to visit the eShop wasn’t possible, nor was unlinking an account from the console, since both activities require the internet."
So basically, you lose the ability to use the console as intended, buy digital games or play games as intended. If you factory reset it, you hard brick the system too because it can't connect to the online.

Literally all they had to do was bump the specs, fix the joysticks on all their controllers, improve online systems (not even a hardware fix), and keep the price at $300, $350 max.

And to boot, they didn't even launch it with some big title to amaze everyone and deflect some of the pushback. Mario Kart ain't it. They literally pulled an Xbone and said pay up piggies.

Average pixel response is 33ms g2g. That's insanely slow. Like 5 times as slow as the average IPS LCD. Close to unplayable for anything with fast motion.

So you have to plug it into a TV to actually use it, then it's like a last gen console but with DLSS to put a good spin on it.
