What exactly is the "modern audience" and why does it seem like they rarely show up for the games they're supposed to?

Maybe game dev's can't actually create an audience. They can only attract one.

What kind of advertising tactic is it to blame people who didn't buy a product for the failure of a product?

Modern audience by my definition of it, are people who play video games not because they enjoy the game, or because they enjoy the hobby, but are people who view video games as just a platform to deliver social commentary on, well, what ever.

The "modern audience" is nothing more than the creepy freakish fags, pedophiles, communists and other rainbow freaks who infiltrated and got positions in game development.
All of the rainbow letters are stricken by a mental disease. Rather, they are a disease not unlike cancer: they can not propagate by themselves, so they must traumatize and damage others by infiltrating their spaces and converting them. They are -driven- to do so, because they know in their fucked up minds it is the only way for their kind to spread. And like a malignant cancer that spreads uncontested, they only ever gain ground via dodging the immune system, ie afflicting society with "tolerance" that prevents them from being dealt with properly.

I think it was Dragon Age Veilguard where it was revealed the people in charge just assumed RPG gamers would crawl out of their cave to buy it regardless of what was in it and they only needed to pander to people who didn't play games.

Which is quite the stratagem. I dunno about you fuckers there's far too much to play and not enough time to play it as it is. A game has to be more than a game to get me to even notice let alone consider buying it

That's it, when they started shoving this garbage into the games people were still buying hoping it was just some misdirection that would be corrected later, but when what they were doing became obvious the sales plummeted, I think they're still insisting in it because the cancer pushing this shit is doing it from the inside and it must be hard convincing everyone to drop it without first cleaning house, but they can't lose money forever, eventually they'll have to give all those retards the boot

The modern audience is supposed to be the people you see on Twitter that call you a chud. But the reality is that what constitutes an audience is largely amorphous and doesn’t map on to everything cleanly. This is why allot of the games that certain people go to bat for as a defense against the chuds don’t do well. These are games like Tales of Kanzera or Dustborn. Much in the same way certain people here will say they won’t play a game like Stellar Blade just because it tries to hard to appeal to them the same is true for leftoids. The only difference is that they’ll virtue signal more about chuds hating a game while the chud will just shitpost about how he hates gooks on 4chin.
