Game:
>Ace Combat Zero overall, but some missions/story significant parts of 4 dwarf it.
OST:
>4, but Zero's final mission is the best in the series so far for me, the acoustic guitar makes me hard
Mission:
>Shattered Skies (AC4 - Mission 8)
Character:
>Pixy
Plane:
>F22-A (AC4 Version)

I have only beaten the PS2 trilogy. Where should I go next? I have access to any emulator but 6 is kinda fucked and not sure about AH:L+ on 3DS since emulation of that system is not perfect either. Hawx 1 is pretty good if you haven't played it btw, 7/10 desu.

7, it's just an improvement over the earlier games. But I'll always have a soft spot for 6 as the first AC game I played.
>OST
Alicorn/Hero of Comberth Harbor is fucking glorious
>Mission
The third DLC mission in 7 is literally peak Ace Combat.
>Character
Pasternak from 6. Great bossfight and the nicest line in the series with "Gentlemen, I do not believe a lady in the world could resist us now". Also Prez from Project: Wingman if she counts
>Plane
SU-35, just top Soviet sleekness.

It honestly depends on the day. It's usually between the Rafale, the F-22 or the F-23, though. Today I'm feeling more F-23, especially from this fucking angle. Hnn.

Does Ace Combat 3 have any collaboration with real-world licensed planes or copyright/patents? That's probably the main reason why 4, 5, 6, zero never got ports or sold digitally on storefronts that can emulate the games.

Love me MiG-31B. In multiplayer I would sit back firing SAAM's into the cloud. Rekt em' all. Flew too high & fast for all those F-22's to catch me.
Only ever played 7. Really enjoyed it.

OP here, after finishing the trilogy I gotta say I fucking despised Ace Combat 5. I know I'm a giant faggot but I could not bring myself to finish it without save states. This game is a test of my patience with how long you sit around waiting for shit to happen only to die because you blew all your missles having fun and now you gotta order allies around who don't listen while listening to THEM break down war like how an autistic person would break down war but with an IQ of 80.

Is 7 this bad with the anime shit? I really fucking loved Zero for its more minimalist approaches and themes, though 4 was so fucking kino. I know 6 in particular is meme-worthy.

The main game is 20 missions and 28 planes, the DLC is 3 missions and 19 planes
The DLC missions are incredibly good to the point of being some of the best in the entire series, and the DLC planes range from broken to just fine
I'd recommend the Season Pass for the missions and 3 of the superplanes because they're fun and help with the missions (they're endgame content despite chronologically taking place in the third quarter), but the rest of the planes/packs are there pretty much only if you like those planes in particular or are a completionist kind of guy

04 and Zero are the best for different reasons so I can't really pick one. OST is always good, even in the shitpile that is AH, but I guess Zero takes the spot.
>mission
Zero Mission 10, just a big dogfight with that banging cowbell and guitar.
>plane
Viggen. Unfortunately it's only in 1 (?) AC game. Project Wingman had it, which was based.

>>713789887
The constant jibber-jabber fucking kills me in 5 and 7. Zero has a bit of it, but it's not nearly on the same "soap-opera in planes" level. AC04 has the best chatter in the series, it's mostly just semi-realistic radio calls in the background, and MOST of the chatter is story/mission related.
>break down war like how an autistic person would break down war but with an IQ of 80.
kek, couldn't have put it better.

You'd have to get matches going via /aceg/ or Reddit at this point
You can always just play the levels you like, but I hope they do add some kind of PvE multiplayer/coop mode in AC8, or a PvE/PvP mix where you're supported by NPC friendlies

Anyone else played the Ace Combat: WW2 edition?
Also known as Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces.
Found it quite enjoyable, a solid 7/10.
It's hampered a bit by the controls (emulated on Dolphin with a XBOX controller) but you can play it just fine.

Highly recommend watching the movie first if you intend to give it a go.

Well AC3 was their first real attempt at a narrative driven game, they poured millions into it, it was supposed to be their next big thing but it ended up nearly bankrupted them. It'd probably lock in the vault too, hell the US version gutted most of it and changes the story to generic "US vs terrorists"
