close. i liked mw2 and especially loved pwning and shit talking the 12 year olds in voice but it was not a good game, they casualized a lot of stuff and the maps were all tiny and trash and it was soulless to boot.

It killed multiplayer FPS. Even all the desperate fake concessions from companies that added servers back in (no community self hosting of course) was just a stalling tactic so that companies could wait until the old guard either left or were outweighed by those with no standards.

Came to post this. The worst of it was the grenade spam. Then maybe stopping power and juggernaut existing, but I mostly played hardcore so it didn't matter much when cold blooded was more important.
Fuck OMA, fuck tactical nuke campers on objective modes, fuck tactical spawn, fuck a lot of those shitty maps and fuck the expanded killstreaks.

mw2 multi was fun because you knew the devs making it were having fun. same thing with halo 3.

they didn't get to further balance the game due to lawsuits and the team falling apart.
all things considered it still lasted incredibly long for how little post launch support it received.

my go to strat was MP5 + unlimited running + extra melee range and I just never stopped running and knifing people it was really fun

BF4 is still the best. It is a complete game with layers of tech. If players work together it makes things easier like taking out vehicles with soflam. There is a reason COD tried to copy the BF format
