Serbs are put in places they never existed at until the 17th century, all of Greece west of Thessalonika is overpopulated, Arvanites exist for some reason, Hungary is somehow less Hungarian in the 14th century then post Ottoman conquest, latins straight up erased from existence just look at Shkodra with serbs being the majority despite Venitian sources confirming that to not be true, Albania is underpopulated, Serbia is underpopulated, there is way too little catholics in Serbia, I dont need to say anything about Bosnia at this point, too few Aromanians in southern Albania, also too few Albanians in southern albania

Is this the map painter thread?

On HoI4, they are introducing an entirely new resource type with the Japan rework next patch. You're going to need to power industry now, the same way ships, planes and tanks need fuel.

Fundamentally, I'm not against it. It's a mechanic intended to put a cap on the limitless production you can achieve if you're any good at the game. It's also there to make you want to de-mobilize your economy back towards civilian production at some point.
It's probably also going to interact with Dams and Civilian Nuclear Reactors.

My issue with the change is that, the comparison to Oil and Fuel is just way too accurate. It's a resource that 3~5 countries in the world start with more than they'll ever need, and everyone else has none of. Which is the point of even adding it, because it's the driving force that's supposed to make countries like Japan to expand aggressively. But overall it's going to be a major nerf to everyone who isn't the US, Germany, France and USA.

It will put a big damper on minors, and that's a good thing since some of their bonuses are ridiculous without any real industry deficit.

Minors have to contend with all sorts of drawbacks. No navy, less tech slots, start with no techs, no resources and, most of all, low manpower. It's not like the Soviet Union and Germany don't have insane bonuses themselves, and then you have the USA which starts the game with literally every advantage imaginable.
Playing minors is going to be a pain in the ass. Right now, playing minors usually involves getting around 15~30 civilian factories before you start making military ones. Depending on how much coal you need to power up industry, you're going to be using half of that just for importing energy.
The flipside of that is, a HUGE chunk of every minor's civilian factories is gonna get handed to Majors. Big countries won't even have to make civs at all, they'll get all of their construction from coal imports.

That's not mentioned anywhere on the dev diary. In fact, it does say that energy is produced based the coal you keep, and the rest is traded away, like every other resource. It depends on your Resources to Market variable.

Figured, I can see how you can interpret it that way.
I'm most hyped for Naval changes, and the changes to factions. The idea that each faction will have goals that are separate from just capping an enemy is every appealing. I also happen to be a Naval autist, even though it's not very rewarding.

How the fuck would this even work?
The moment the peasants alone decide to stand up against the nobles, they can easily just kill all of them. If the slaves join in as well, it'll be even worse.

i bersonally wanted more differentiation between all the nations, yeah each dynasty is different and the country has its own color. But ruler portraits could all blend together so it should be locked behind a State Visit or something. So not every single one is visible. Also they should only use the gay ass doll prototype as a base to use AI for a better portrait. Like the Egyptian sultan could have an islamic artstyle portrait, but still based off the dumb "build a bear" looking portraits they have now, so the lineage would look similar. As in, an heir would look like their progenator, but once passed through AI it'd actually be aesthetic and interesting and memorable.
