That being said, it does worry me slightly that if this goes through and affects video games, there might be an incentive to not make any sort of solo functionality for online games.
There might be a case where a developer wants to make an online game with a purely solo mode, but they'll instead opt to leave the solo mode out in order to avoid the hassle of making it work when the servers shut down.
If this does however include MMOs in the sense that MMO developers will have to let players operate the servers after official support ceases, then the idea is doomed.
If I was an MMO developer, I wouldn't want some slavs/chinks/jeets using my game and operating paywalled servers, making a profit off my work. Of course the idea is that the community would just have fun with the game without any malicious intent, but that obviously won't always be the case.
