macOS 26 will be supported until 2028, so functionally longer than Windows 10 and the same Macs dropped by macOS 27 would have also been dropped by Windows 11 if they were Windows PCs.

now it's another year of clicking delay updates for as along as I can, then finally when I can't any more, installing the updates, rebooting and hoping it actually boots back up and jeetrosoft coders didn't break my computer as they've already done multiple times with their shitty updates.

8.1 was vastly better than 10. 10 took the worst parts of 8 and made them mandatory in the desktop environment alongside constant "feature" updates and ads.
8.1 at least kept them separate and was basically just a leaner, faster version of 7.

I stuck with 8.1 until last year when a game I wanted to play didn't work on it. The annoying thing is everything in 10 is slower, more bloated, and games that ran great on 8.1 stutter on 10. Decided to keep 8.1 in a separate drive and still use it for most things. It's the greatest OS Microsoft ever released and the only time Windows ever got more lean, rather than more bloated.

It's a good thing that there are communities, companies, etc. who would do maintenance on open source software for no wages.
Though admittedly they would rather be doing so with Windows 7.
Maintaining software should be a necessary condition for maintaining your copyrights and patents relating to it.

Must suck being a system admin and your dumbass boomer boss didnt listen and decided to save a bit of money refusing to go with LTSC because what the point and microsoft would never force us to update breaking software/etc shit.
Srsly microsofts monopoly needs to die, I mean it slowly is but JFC chrome OS is 9001X worse. How in gods name do you fuck up and ruin linux forcing people to use shitty google apps and not allow linux programs to be installed unless its in some stupid VM unable to fully interact with chrome OS. Honestly those ARM mac minis are the least retarded option now for a basic all in one computer and they're like 800$ less for used/refurb. Its slowly getting more programs converted to ARM. What the fuck has happened to computers man, smartphones have ruined humanity its unreal. Google needs to be banned from touching the linux kernel. Chromebooks are amazing when running linux, installing linux tho is a nightmare not only does it void the warranty. You need to open the laptop and flip a switch and do other shit even mess with the bios. Either risking bricking the laptop or magically when trying to flip its "safety" switch whoops someone broke/snapped off the board.

>Thread Director update for P/E core for Intel 12 and newer
>Thread Director / scheduler update for any AMD with more than 8 cores, dual CCD heterogeneous X3D Zen4 or newer.
and other shit, then I'd happily stay on 10. Otherwise, building a new PC necessitates Win11+ if you have that kind of hardware, or your scheduler is completely fucked provided you're not manually pinning cores for literally everything. Not sure if there's any DirectX or Xbox shit only for 11 or not,.

Otherwise, its using the latest version or taking the Linux pill preferably.

Unfortunately dual booting or keeping Windows on one of your devices seems to make stat trackers includes Valves survey count you only as a Windows user.
Which has the negative effect of depressing GNU/Linux stats, and delays the changes from developers that are needed to make Linux the best for gaming.

A lot of people still haven't caught on to the fact you can get a Linux distribution 100% ready to go with no crap if your hardware is all supported by open source drivers.
Meanwhile every install of a Microsoft platform now requires extreme measures to try to strip it down and isolate it, but those efforts are never totally successful and all that work will be undone by the next forced update.

Retards get terrified with fact that they may need do a simple terminal command.

Also windows stuff don't really work out of box and need setup.

The irony is that there are Linux distributions that don't require the terminal at all, and they'll deny those are Linux distributions because of that fact.
Meanwhile Microsoft's own instructions on how to undo some of the absolutely stupid crap Microsoft did in 11 require you to use obscure Power Shell commands.

Windows applications not being compatible right away is legit complain, and I can understand since lot of crap don't play well with linux.

But yeah, any popular distro don't need touch bash script, if you need do like software manager being a bitch, it tells exactly what you should do. And lot of stuff are nearly retard proof like Lutrix and Proton.
