I think it's highly subjective to each person. After doing it a lot, I hate the first 3/4 of it, but the last 50 floors of PotD are so much fun.

I will say some of the BEST fun I've had with video games in a long time was blind learning how to solo Heaven on High. The content is short enough to not feel too punishing. I had a really solid foundation of how to do DD due to PotD (HoH and Stormblood was only added to the Free Trial semi-recently) so I was able to complete it starting from 0/0 aetherpool and 0 sustaining potions on a non-healer.

You can totally do it without a guide as long as you understand some of the fundaments of DD that, to me, don't feel like hand-holding or guide-like.

Depends on what you mean by fun. PotD/HoH are kinda braindead in a group, unless everyone is really new (no aetherpool levels, everyone running over traps, people pulling mobs randomly to you).

EO is only somewhat easier than solo, as there's more mobs that will lead to a full party wipe if you're fucking around too much.

A lot of people will move from FATE to FATE (which die pretty quickly due to being zerged) and only stop when a CE pops up, which they'll then do. The CE gives you plenty of time to go there, and it can't really be zerged down like FATEs.

It's Eureka 2.0 but without the early limitations on mounting/Aetherytes and CEs take the place of the big NMs you'd normally try to spawn. It's fun in my opinion, the CE/fate rotation can get a little stale especially if no one is really spawning the more notable CEs. The FATEs don't always scale particularly well either with Prime time ones exploding and then as the instance winds down you'll get FATEs with way too much HP.

That depends on what you make of it, to be honest.
You could be running and teleporting from spot to spot zerging shit down, or you can take it easy.
Socialization is also preference based, but most people tend to talk. In my experience, there's usually some people talking in shout, or failing that, asking for a raise, which can turn into a conversation as well. CEs (especially if you're not a tank) are easiest in a party, and people tend to talk there as well.
But nothing will necessitate you talking that I can think of except maybe gold farms (which I haven't done) and Forked Tower (which I also haven't done).
Like you won't be removed from the group or filtered from the content if you don't talk, but in my experience people are fairly chatty.

The main benefit for doing tank in these contents is because Gold ranking is determined by aggro. I get golds in FATEs just by doing 3x Fell Cleaves with tank stance on solo.
And what's nice about being able to survive everything, is that if you mess up one, you can still try to learn the next mechanic instead of waiting for a rez.
And when I was catching up on all relics, Warrior was easily the best for solo light farm for Pagos and Pyros.

We don't know for sure yet, but I seriously doubt it since the overall design of the game has changed a lot over the years.

It sounds stupid, but them removing the ability to crit from enemies in Shadowbringers and lowering the overall autoattack damage makes it very hard for them to design a deep dungeon that's not just mechanics puke where you die if you get hit by anything.

I don't wanna ruin your DD experience, but I feel like I should offer you this option to avoid a lot of frustration. The only piece of advice I would give to someone going in blind relates to how to approach and deal with traps in DD. I will spoiler it, but I think it's much better to know it than not, IMO.

Traps in DD: Traps are not placed randomly, you can avoid 99% of all traps simply by hugging the walls and until you start doing this you will lose a lot of runs to what feels arbitrary. There's a few specific spots with wall traps that will get you, but they are very recognizable if you want to learn them

Early EO floors are misery, enemies simply have too much HP for no reason. You're never in danger, you're just waiting around for them to finally die.

Once you learn each mob's gimmick, they never deal enough damage to actually kill you so they aren't engaging. But, if you ever mis-step and die to some instant kill gotcha, it feels cheap and lame.

And once you're in the late floors, you never feel ANY sense of danger from the enemies since you're able to use all your stockpiled POMs and the enemies still don't hit hard. People have done no sustain potion clears on SAM since enemies are that un-threatening.

The biggest danger form a trap is the Luring trap which summons 3 aggro'd random enemies from the pool of enemies on the floor you're on. In late floors, this can be instant death if you don't deal with instantly. In the early floors, running over traps is who cares since you can deal with everything, especially in a group. But even late floors, you can full party wipe from a Luring trap.

PotD: More similar to HoH, but you're probably better off going MCH as you can swap pom management to mob management, which isn't too bad on MCH since it's very easy to kite even higher floor enemies and they die fast enough to not kill you. Still more nerve wracking since you're wasting way more hours if you die than you do in HoH.

XIV is fucking wild, you'd think they would try something, anything, to get people to play the content they spend exorbitant dev time on and they don't. The entirety of EX, Savage, and Ultimates has been a downward line in participation with a brief stop in 6.05 where hundreds of thousands of new players got their first dose of savage, were burnt by it, then it was right back to line going down for 6.2 and 6.4.

At this point it's exclusively a higher end raiding game, even the adventuring forays that are basically made for normies/midcores have been snatched away for upper raiders only now. Occult is just Bozja 0.6 but without a CLL or Dalriada and they skipped straight to DRS 2.
