Why aren't there more video games that take place in Amercian high schools?

Class of '09 is the closest example I can think of when it comes to the setting and it's fucking safe edgy dogshit that was (formerly) hounded by safe edgy gen alpha TikTok lesbians and yurifags.

Snoot Game and Wani is also an example of using a high school setting but those mainly focus on Fang and Olivia. Imagine a Persona game where you can go back the all-american experience.

Because high school sucks for all but the biggest normalfags, why would people want to relive that?

There was that one game at Summer Game Fest iirc.

Also school setting is more culturally relevant in Japan over most other countries. Culture Festivals, school swimsuits, school field trips, etc.
