How do I get a lot of money? Sure I've had lots before, but not in the hundreds. If doubling money wasn't capped at 20 it might seem more feasible.

I feel like odd/even jokers are better to take early on than Square because at least then you could use tarots to duplicate the odd/even cards you want to play plus full house. Meanwhile you only get 16 chips max per round (20 with extra hands) with SJ to build and it's like you're not going to see comparable results until you're 3 antes deep, at which point you'd probably want the extra money if you see it early instead

It seemed like every time I turned around, when I look back the main dev's making yet another paragraphs-long announcement about "wehhh I'm discontinuing the mod i'm deleting everything it's overrrrr". And now it's actually fucking happened and I'm just sitting here wonder what in fuck's name sprouted this catastrophe. Vagabond is maybe the strongest single joker in the game for winning an 8 ante run. The amount of value you get from 3 to 4 tarot cards per round is unmatched even if you're giving up 5 bucks of interest per round to do it, and you're not always going to be doing that once you start getting gold cards from Vagabond.

High score isn't done with the Black Deck, it's Plasma Deck since it divides your mult by two then squares it, so e50 mult becomes e100 score. As to you not getting up that high, you have to just learn how to make billions of dollars early so you can reroll the shop to dig for Idol+retrigger jokers and red+glass cards, or baron+mime and red seal kings.

No. Raising chips is valuable up to a point, but X mult only affects mult so it scales harder. Chips should largely be coming from planet cards outside the early game where you haven't had time to scale them yet, or if you've got a strong scaling chips joker that means you can largely skip planet cards like Square, Castle, or Wee.

What a funky game. I never use the spectral card that converts all cards to 1 rank but I thought what the hell. But I got all 4's and then I got a 10-4 joker. Getting the DNA was a god send because I managed to clone non stop lucky cards then the dice came later.

Longer version, Jen stole a lot of artwork early on, got called out on in, fixed things, then a VERY small number of people refused to move on. Additionally, all the self-insert OC DONUT STEEL cards, and Youtuber cards to get free clicks.
So the entire thing's dead, unless you have the latest version, it's gone permanantly and will never be updated.
In all honesty, they were heavily Alphabet leaning and this was the inevitable outcome, outside of becoming an hero.
As to going to Gmod, agreed, most people have better sandboxes at this point, especially after the Nintendo purge and most adult mods not being available or pay for access. And Tower became it's own seperate thing.

Since Balatro doesn't use a normal invert filter for Negative Jokers, here's a sheet showing what they all look like. I've never seen any of these as clean images, so I fixed that.

when i play balatro i always try to turn every card in my deck into an ace of a specific suit to get Five of a Flush very frequently. the task gets easier and easier as you go along the run since there's better odds of getting that specific ace. i've never actually done jonkerless, but that's almost always the strat i went for when i played frequently.
