This is probably the best remake I've ever played. Hit every major point in the story while adding a little more, great gameplay, and the graphics are peak. What are your thoughts on the Dead Space Remake?

The remake was decent but some of the changes were horrible.

The tier access system is nice in theory but ruined the entire in-game economy. Not having to buy/save nodes to enter certain doors just leads to you having way too many credits at hand. I remember barely having any ammo left towards the end of the game in the orignal but in this game I nearly overstocked on it.

Also what was the point of giving us an additional crew member if she dies right at the start anyway?

honestly, I didnt play the remake, but I saw the gravity changes. I dont like it with DS1. The original mechanics were thought out and designed around it. I do like how it changed in DS2 because of the same reasons, they were thought out and designed around it. I just wish we got a trilogy and saw the end of the story.

It was decent but it shouldn't have been made. The original is fine. Better pacing in a lot of respects. They should have taken all that effort and made Dead Space 4 and finished the franchise.
It would've been a win-win. Instead of being compared to Dead Space 1, it would've been compared to Dead Space 3 and everyone would've loved it because the remake kicks the shit out of 3 in every respect.
Instead they shot themselves in the foot remaking a game that didn't need a remake and now it's 80% off in every sale.

They should go back in time, make 4 instead, and then for extra brownie points, port DS IOS (it already has controller functionality through apk patches) and include it as like a pre-order bonus. They did that and everyone on /v/ would be (rightfully) sucking their dicks.

Remake was buggy at times. Got softlocked in chapter 5 I think where I went off the main to explore a bit and a door closed behind me, never wanted to open again where I had to reload my save. Even after latest patch, still has not been fixed.

Dead Space remake is pretty good, but the best remake is Re4. In the Dead Space remake there are still some parts that drag and some parts I wish they didn't change, while I can't think of any part in the Re4 remake that I feel the same way. Re4R has excellent pacing. While in the original Re4 by the time you get to the island I'm ready to end it, in the remake I was honestly disappointed once I got to Saddler. I wished it was longer

it was a mixed bag. You would often find some sort of semiconductor or a good chunk of credits that would offset some of the cost at least but resources were much more scarce in the original so even if you did not break even it was often worth it simply because there was no store close by and you got some ammo

the remake is pretty good except for the voice acting. what they did to hammond and dr kein are fucking criminal. kein is a mentally broken mf in the original vs the remake where he is at best a little stressed but still has his mental faculties. also they fucking ruined the death of dr mercer.

still far better than I was expecting but god I wish there was a mod that removed most of the new VA slop and added the batshit insane VAs from the old one.

The Gold edition was less than that about a year ago. 90% off at the time.

i played a few hours of it. it's weird how one hour in that game can feel like 5 hours in any other game.

My main gripe is that the animations are really awful. Should have just copy pasted the ones from the original which is weird because they literally did with some of them. Should have done it with all of them. But what do you expect from the people that did Andromeda.

I liked Isaac's older design. Not that it's a huge point, even in the original Dead Space.

I preffer the remake over the original based purely on the fact that the flamethrower is an absolute rapemachine.

I don't know if that's possible without just making it a different game. Everything from the writing to the lame copy-pasted side-dungeons, just about every introduced mechanic, the lame new enemies, apart from the art direction it's basically all bad.

I'd just skip straight to making a DS4 and just keep DS3 at a permanent 95% discount for anyone interested in why moons are eating earth now.
