Triangle Strategy
is this game worth the price? It's 60% off on steam right now. I'm looking for something similar to tactics ogre both in story and gameplay.

Gameplay is fine TRPG fare. Story and characters are extremely dull.

Isn't the story the biggest selling point of the game?

Triangle Strategy is a new tactics RPG from the team who brought you the Bravely series and Octopath Traveler. An epic tale, brought to life with stunning HD-2D graphics. Make difficult decisions in this story set against a backdrop of the war-torn continent of Norzelia.

60% off on Steam, sale ends July 10th.

No it isn't. I dropped it after a few missions because I wasn't invested in the story at all.

its incredibly slugish and the story is fucking terrible
Anonymous No.713862168 [Report] >>713862709
not sure if it's worth the price.
i played the game using Yuzu and it's decent.
there is no character build hoever since every character has a fixed role.
maps are varied.
i recommend playing the game on the highest difficulty. It's rewarding.
m found the story better than most JRPGs.

>Story and characters are extremely dull.
I thought the story was about a tyrannical theocracy in which all criminals are judged by some Wizard of Oz figure who burns the "guilty" alive without trial. That sounds the opposite of dull.

What? No, that isn't what the story is about at all. It's about three countries warring over iron mines and salt prices.

that was something that annoyed me, along with level ups basically being worthless.
>afk grind a character to 50, 2 exp at a time
>literally the only gain is HP, not a single point on anything else
Anonymous No.713862929 [Report]
>>713862341
No?
The story is:
People who live in the cold are bad
Religion is bad
Government is good

I'm surprised we didn't get a spiritual sequel in a different setting. I liked it.
Anonymous No.713863197 [Report]
>>713862341
That's part of it but there's also other stuff happening. The story is basically a power struggle between 3 nations with your noble house caught in the middle.

Yes, it's my favorite tactic RPG game. Better than FF:T, Tactics Ogre, or any Fire Emblem.

We could still get a sequel. It took 5 years for Octopath 2.

>People with ADHD who got filtered by the first few hours = game bad
>People who have an attention span = game good

Basically what I've gathered from these posts, with occasional input from those who haven't even played it, but love the sound of their own voice.

The story is good but it's about relatively realistic compared to the average JRPG, so people who need it to be about killing gods and extremely over the top bullshit won't like it

That's a good point retard. It means you can't break the difficulty curve with grinding.

I played the demo and quit for years because WORDS WORDS WORDS. Picked it up a couple years later and loved it. One regret I had was missing out on recruiting a character despite playing four times because of specific decisions you have to make. Past your first playthrough, if you get that far, you might want to look up a guide so you don't miss out on content. Which is a shame because weighing out decisions is one of the cooler parts of the game.

The story can force you on idiotic paths that have no relationship to the choices you make (because democracy? Or some dumb shit) and the characters almost all suffer from being extremely retarded except about three characters.

A theme is not a plot. The plot is they are trying to get salt. Why are you interacting with those retards in their desert shit hole?

I played it on the Quest 3 for a few hours and found it extremely dull even with the 3D gimmick. The characters are lame and battles are boring and the story put me to sleep. I wouldn’t suggest buying it.

>The plot is they are trying to get salt. Why are you interacting with those retards in their desert shit hole?
Because the retards in the desert have a monopoly on salt, retard. Did you play the game?

>Because the retards in the desert have a monopoly on salt

Yes exactly, thank you for confirming what I said in the first place. All that extra shit is just fluff that comes down to

>Do we wanna be cucks for salt but not be with evil bad man
>Do we think that's a bad idea

And the entire basis for this is all rooted in bullshit that just stems from you wanting to keep your nobility. It's a retarded story trying to morally grandstand when it has no leg to stand on.
