why do people buy games they don't play
>>713863902 (OP)why do people buy books they don't read
It's a social status thing, you can't understand.
>>713863902 (OP)For a rainy day, I guess you could say, back up, they're there and ready for you when you are.
It's 60% off bro. Not buying it is like throwing money away.
>>713863902 (OP)because i was young and stupid and didn't understand that just because a bundle has 20 games in it for $2 doesn't make it worth the $2. most of my steam library is from purchasing decisions like that from over ten years ago. these days i only buy what i intend to play.
Because people need adventure, not destinations. And looking for games to play is a proxy adventure (and so is playing games excessively)
>>713863902 (OP)Shopping addiction. Same why women keep buying shoes.
>>713864221Why get it at 60% off when you can get it for 100% off?
>>713864183I've noticed vast majority of times I play one of these games out of the backlog I end up not liking it which has taught me to not buy anything no matter what unless I'm absolutely certain I'll enjoy it. No more backup games for me.
>>713864294Let's buy some shoes. Stupid boy!
>>713864532That's very fair, I find I've been the opposite, luckily.
Same reason my shop buys manufacturing machinery we never use (and will never use)
>>713864752For a long time I went into playing these games expecting the opposite because they were all in genres I liked but it just kept happening.
I stopped giving a shit more about $2 "steals" as I got older because I realized that $2 could go towards beer instead owning shitty games for the sake of owning
I bought 2 things this sale, crash trilogy for $4 which I have 4 hours in now and a DLC for $3 for a game I already play
and I'm extremely satisfied
>>713863902 (OP)because it gives you steam points so you can jester people
>>713863902 (OP)What else are they going to spend their unused money for?

>>713863902 (OP)mutts are trained to consoom by their jewish masters
>>713863902 (OP)I DON'T DO IT ON PURPOSE I PLAN ON PLAYING THESE GAMES IT'S NOT MY FAULT
i like to have the option to play them.
I buy everything physical when possible.
Can just sit on it and worst case have at least the same return when they run out of print wich then can be used for a rainy day.
Kind of like a savings account but more fun.
