That said, the dark, epic fantasy of Elden Ring has intrigued me ever since the first trailer and now I finally have a good enough PC to run it.

>>713885128Civ IV is like $20. I feel baited

>>713884953Can you deal with pushing a flashlight button and accepting the fact that enemies will regularly try to ambush you from behind? If yes, then you have overcome the two biggest complaints about Doom 3.
Personally, I think it's excellent and I replay it once or twice a year.
>>713885132Haven't played, have a friend who gushed about it. He claims "It's peak souls, it's like if souls had more satisfying combat" Personally I'm waiting to pick it up cheaper but if you enjoy souls combat but want it to be "better" however that actually works then maybe the price is worth it. By his profile takes like 45ish hours to complete.
>>713885063The BFG edition on Steam makes it so the flashlight is shoulder-mounted instead and doesn't obstruct weapon use (at the expense of having an astonishingly terrible battery life that means you constantly have to keep flicking it on and off, and also it's irritatingly off-center).
battlefield game and battlefront games are super cheap right now, what should i buy to have FUN without having to tryhard in it
>>713885056The core spearfishing mechanic is enjoyable and fresh for a while, but it's bells and whistles: the game. There are a lot of decent mechanics, minigames, bespoke events, but none of it ties together into something cohesive. If the price is throwaway money for you, sure, give it a shot, you'll have some fun. Otherwise get some farming game.
>>713885336Preddy fun. Fuckhuge character roster and full runs last around an hour. Don't buy the costumes, you'll barely see them in the isometric perspective.
I've been looking for games for an hour. I know damn well how this is going to end, so I'm just going to keep playing San Andreas.
I ran out of things to buy, might as well buy 1 big title that never beyond 50% in discount every sale from now on.
>>713884854Clair Obscur is turn-based and is a great game, but note that it does have dodging/parrying as well. Seeing how there are negative reviews on Steam that say "the game is amazing, but don't force me to learn parrying", it can ruin the game for some.
>>713884953>Is doom 3 worth playing or is memed by contrariansIt's an average shooter with some neat tech. Occasionally spooky it's too dark for you to see it. Don't play the BFG edition.

>>713890482>>713886808The Trails games are all set in the same continuity and connected, they all expect you to have played the games played previously.
So Sky Trilogy, Crossbell Duology (Zero and Azure), Cold Steel quadrology, then Reverie, then Daybreak, doing any other will significantly impact your understanding and involvement with the series.

Are there any metroidvania? I don't like hk, besides it being perfectly made. Was looking for Mandragora, but devs fucked up very big league. That's euro devs for you. The only mv I liked are sotn and salt and sanctuary and bloodstained to a lesser degree albeit.

>>713890887>Are there any metroidvania?Lol. There's so many that real gems are forgotten about. The genre is rather diverse and so you shouldn't expect them all to play similarly. It sounds like you prefer the ones that are more RPG focused.

It's worse than I thought. This is just +JRPG -2D with a few reasonable tweaks like 1000 review minimum and >=75% off. 36 games and a lot aren't really what you'd consider a traditional JRPG.
>>713891528>XIIIbased and cliffhangerpilled
Okay, after considerations and asking in threads like this, I picked up these options:
>Nioh 2
>Cyber Knights Flashpoint
>Dolls Nest
>Project Wingman: Frontline-59 Campaign
>Shadow Empire (but on GOG since its cheaper there)
Tainted Grail and AI Limit must wait for bigger discount then.

Out of those I played, can only really recommend the above. Only the last two are really your typical JRPGs though. It might be worth looking at 2D JRPGs on sale like CrossCode (ARPG) but I haven't checked.
Just a note if you're looking at Code Vein: Combat feels like shit and will annoy you more and more as you finish the game. Solid 6/10.

is it a coincidence that every game i'm interest in is 10 bucks or less or am I just a cheapskate
I want platformer with intense gun action. Not just Run&Gun but something like Mega Man but more intense.
Some games you might of never heard of that I recommend for this sale:
Against the Storm
Drova - Forsaken Kin
Metal: Hellsinger
Mortal Sin
Seven: Enhanced Edition
Windjammers 2
>>713892650I found Tales of Arise's combat to be a clusterfuck. You get a dodge button but your AI-controlled allies will barely use it so in higher difficulties they'll just die constantly from boss attacks.
I'd suggest Ys 8 or 9 instead. A bit jankier and lower-budget but much better in terms of combat system.

Which one would you get?
Honestly at this point I can't bring myself to buy new games not because of money problems, but because I geniuenly have so many unfinished games already that I cannot imagine when I'll have the time to play new games.
I have like 20 games in my library I haven't even started.
Anyone else feel this?
I really just wish there was a western rpg that had the same upbeat adventure feel of a jrpg. Oblivion is kinda close but the remaster decided to rape the color grading into typical western sadness. Plus you don't get happy companions in elder scrolls. Just sad people you talk to occasionally about how sad and worried they are.
>>713893394>I have like 20 games in my library I haven't even started.>20Haha....
>>713893394no I have too much money, library can keep growing I don't care. my kids will play it
>>713893394Its common. I have far more "backlog" games and feel like shit over this. Which is why since last few sales I only buy one or two games I intend to right away start and play. Worked out good so far.
You could even argue that all those backlog games were wasted money since if I was not interesting in playing them so far, I would never be in first place.
>>713893092>>713892921There's two different methods, anons. The one that hooks into Steam directly is the dumb one and I don't think anyone ships or promotes that method any more, which is obvious because Valve warns you now. I don't think Cream ever supported that method anyway, so you're really just bitching about Koalageddon/Smoke.
As far as I know, there have been no account bans/deletions because of it, just the warning screen. Although I haven't kept up with it since I never used that retarded method in the first place.
>>713892863You still own the game and get achievements and all you have to do is drop two files in. If you're worried about achievements, Valve doesn't care. There are dedicated achievement managers players have been using for various reasons like game bugs since forever.
if GBF ReLink worth if I don't have any friends to play with?
>>713893610It's a good singleplayer RPG, yeah.
>>713893394Stop caring about playing all your games and just play what you feel like playing now.
>>713893610Yes, it has one of the best AI I've seen in the games. Though I didn't finish the last 20% of the game so I don't know if it sharts the bed in the end.
And yes, like another anon said, it's great single player game.
>>713893249$3.99 seems like too good of a deal to pass up, and I don't like pirated games
>>713893268I COULD spend more, but I just want to buy a few things that are on a deep discount because I've already got a huge backlog
>>713893570gaben simply doesn't give a fuck
i have played iceborne for years
>>713893687This. The whole "muh backlog" thing is retarded. I sometimes play what I bought 5 or more years ago.
>>713893394I have 6 games in my backlog including GOG purchases. A have quite a few games I've played that sucked and can't get a refund. That's the only thing that makers me hesitant with buying - being unable to refund/ in your library once you realized you don't like it.
>>713893610Action combat is quite nice and fluid, SP story is sometimes quite intense and packed with action, bosses are fun, plot typical animuu uguu tier but I liked it for being so adorably dumb. SP main story content last for around 20-30 hours if you intend to take it slow. Personally, I went all ahead for post-game and reach 130h mark now but I wouldn't recommend that.
Instead of buying a bunch of bucketshop games, do you think I (we) are better off just plunking down some premium ducats for a high quality game.
As in finally buying Baldurs Gate 3?
>>713892750I don't really follow. Intense guns usually come with simple stable floors to dodge and aim from. Maybe Cuphead?
Give Gungirl 2 a shot. It looks like hot piss, but shooting is very satisfying, and platforming gets tricky.

>>713893761I don't know much about this game but it looks like it could sate my jrpg lust.
>>713893854Yeah, I think I understand why the anons were acting retarded though. 'CreamInstaller' or something like that existed and actually had no relation to CreamAPI nor did it use it, it used Koalageddon and SmokeAPI.
>>713893761AI is surprisingly good in endgame, only few more complex characters shits themselves or how some like Zeta forgetting about link attacks and how people recommend stripping her of all skills, which makes her AI stick to pogo jumping all the time, resulting in better damage output. Hell, people even put "glass cannon" on all their AI companions (huge attack/damage cap boost but each hit inflicts dizzy) because AI is that good about perfect dodging everything.
>>713894041You like 2d/platform action games.
>>713893948Baldurs Gay 3 will make sense only after 75% off or similar. Larian don't know shit about balancing gameplay.
