I'm actually replaying rage racer trying to beat the game using the starting car (with upgrades) because some anon on /vr/ said its not possible* and I disagree. It certainly can't be done without the negcon and you need manual gearing but i've done the normal GP and am now onto the 3rd extra GP.

*naturally the extreme oval and diablo GP are impossible in the starting car but this was understood when the claim was made.

I liked Hot Pursuit too but for some reason NFS 4 just hit harder for me. The only game since that was able to recapture that feeling, was Forza Horizon 4.
