>>713883429>>713883682Not only is it shit design, the event itself playing out the way it does is necessary for the plot to progress. Say eve had been a good little girl that didn't eat the fruit simply because god said so, as she was supposed to. Then what? The two live forever in perfect bliss, never knowing any better? But then how do you check if free will (which is their core feature) works? If they have no concept of time or pain or death or good or evil and they never choose wrong, you can't never really make sure free will works at all (or you do, because you're all-knowing, supposedly, but then if you do know then there's no need to test them to begin with). Whatever the case, you can just keep sending the snake (or any animal) to tempt them over and over for untold eons until eve and/or adam eventually give in. It doesn't matter if they choose to obey god a billion times, all that matters is the 1 time they choose to disobey.
Almost as if the entire thing is a dumb metaphor that only works in hindsight and should never be taken literally, much less have an entire religion built around it. The pandora myth is the exact same shit but at least there it works better because it's explicitly stated pandora was created for the purpose of fucking up because the gods were malicious, here you're left to believe that "damn, if just eve the dumb cunt hadn't eaten the fruit, we could all be living in paradise still".
