This is exactly why I just bought a Steam Deck OLED instead of the Switch 2. Nintendo could have easily milked me for a $500-$600 handheld + $80 games by including an OLED display with their new console. Instead they decided to be greedy by thinking they'd get me to buy the Switch 2 + Switch 2 OLED in 3 years. Valve wins again!

What are some good Deck games I should look at /v/? I was thinking Shovel Knight and the Castlevania bundle.

I don't even mind if an LCD handheld has poorer displays than PCs or OLED but why is the switch 2's display substantially worse than the switch 1's display?

Great fucking question. I was seriously considering a Switch 2 until I saw this review. Nintendo used to be about using adequate hardware to run fun proprietary games designed specifically for their systems. Nowadays it seems like they're just shoveling shit and charging $500+$80 for it. The Steam Deck OLED embraces the spirit of what Nintendo used to be.
