Is WoW at the peak of its gameplay, even if the story is bad?
I know the story sucks but fuck there is not one single mythic dungeon that isn't absurdly fun right now.
In fact, Blizzard was criticized because the dungeons are currently awful to pug because of how mechanically heavy they are. But you can still pug if you don't accept shitters in the group.
