The video is good, it covers fundamentals of both Blender and 3D modeling (box modeling, sculpting, modeling with modifiers), and rendering (lighting, materials, composition).
This is one of the first tutorials people do, and it covers many of the basics as well as pitfalls on why beginners get poor results and/or feel as if they need to fight against the software.
