A gradient could work, yeah. A big part of the issue is that the distribution is too evenly split, and Alear also has a fuckton of hair. So 40-70% of her visual space is consumed by the tackiest crayola-ass red & blue at any given view point. This is why comparisons to Heath are silly. It's like a highlight with Heath, and it's a neutral color at that so it doesn't clash as hard.
If Alear had a similar "splash" of one in a larger field of the other, or if some part was relatively desaturated, I'm pretty sure no one would even be making toothpaste memes about her today.

I typically give the boots to a mounted unit in games with rescue because that unit can carry my lord/dancer/another combat unit. And the extra high movement allows me to approach maps in different ways since I can reach some enemies from outside their attack range, whereas boots on an infantry unit merely puts him on par with mounted units. But in games without rescue a boots-boosted juggernaut is often a good idea.

Unless you're feeling adventurous, start with an officially translated game. That'll limit you to FE7 and later. Many fans will recommend you do in fact start with FE7 or FE8 because they're easy, accessible, and fairly polished. But frankly, it does not matter as much as people let on.
The important thing is to pick one you like and that you are physically capable of playing somehow (either through emulation or buy on console). Realistically if you want to buyfag, you're limiting yourself to current gen games (Three Houses, Engage), because it is simply retarded to buy old FE games.

I'm currently doing a playthrough of Thracia 776/FE5 after beating the three GBA games, which I guess technically counts as it's the last of the Kaga-directed FEs. Haven't completed the game yet (I'm at Chapter 21), but I've personally concluded it's very iffy.

There are some mechanics and class quirks I wish were present in the GBA sequels, like Troubadours/Mage Knights with swords, certain skills and capturing. I think most prefer to play the GBA games in these threads, as for the most part they have far better balance and level design while still retaining most of the good mechanics of FE5. Some Kaga fags might accuse me of finding the game too hard, but it really isn't. You can easily get maxed-out characters as early as Chapter 7, get drowned in powerful equipment from the start and can steal more of it, and the enemies are near-universally very weak.

A lord is just the protagonist from whose perspective the story is told. They (almost) always are force deployed, and have a Game Over attached to them. The only reason I say "almost" is because Robin is arguably a lord in every important way, he's just not force deployed. I still wouldn't call him a true lord because of that.

Elincia is not even deployable for most of either Tellius game. The story is not told from her perspective. Sure, she's important and get a prf and a unique class, but so does Lucina.
