Anyone know how to make the battery not melt with these? Does it matter what usb port I use or is it the cable that matters? Meaning can I use my switch docks usb port to charge it, or does it have to be a generic wall plug-in usb port?

I guess if I were to drop PS2 from the requirements that would open up a lot more possibilities, right? Kinda want it too though, lots of good games on that...
Thought something around the ~200-250 dollar mark would do that well at this point

I think technically it's the cable that matters, but instead you can just use a low power charger e.g. an old 1-2A phone charger or just charge from your PC and you'll be safe.
handheld tech has stagnated so hard. the last time i've seen a handheld do something interesing was the 3d stereo effect on the 3ds. now it's just clones on clones of retro ripoffs. what a nightmare.

Don't just stick it on charge and leave it, part of why chinese shit is so cheap is because they save costs on the parts, including the extra circuitry to stop charging when a battery is full.

I've got an RG406V and its been doing Gamecube and PS2 fine, I chose it for the vertical form factor. The Retroid Pocket 5 is meant to be great at the 200 dollar range, if I didn't want a vertical I'd have probably gone for that. Do have a Steam Deck but think its a bit heavy for casual play.
Waiting for my Slide. Haven't bought a new emu handheld in a couple of years outside of getting another Miyoo Mini Plus for my cousin while he was in the hospital. I don't know why, but I have always loved the sliding gimmick ever since I saw it on a Sidekick. Sliding my PSP Go to activate sleep mode is just more satisfying than using the power switch on a normal PSP or Vita.

I was looking on my city's subreddit a while ago to see why a fuckload of cop cars were blocking off part of downtown and I saw a post saying "I bought these speakers off a guy in a parking lot..." like it was some grand revelation that buying AV equipment from the back of a van is a scam and it was his duty to warn people. It blows my mind that they exist beside everyone else.

I saw a bunch of cops downtown and figured someone on there would know what why, usually there's a bunch of posts saying shit like "I just saw a cop car go by what's going on??"

Once we started having games like Fortnite and Genshin running on IPhones it was pretty much over for any handheld that isn’t called the Switch. The steamdeck and equivalents are stuck in the uncanny valley of "pc gamers who want a portable experience but don’t want to buy laptop or use mobiles."
