I tried VR earlier this week at my brother in laws. Moving around in a game made me feel sick, which is a problem I've never had before. I finally get all the whining about "motion sickness" from old FPS games.
Some games oddly don't trigger it, I played Pistol Whip and that was fine. It's fun, and I think after a while I'd hopefully get over the sickness because it looks neat.

Yeah it's like any motion sickness like car/boat. You get used to it but since VR is a voluntary thing people just take off the headset and don't bother.
There's degrees of it and mine was mild with only a knot in my stomach the entire time but I basically went at it with playing 1hr, then 30m break and then like that for an entire week and it fully went away.
Basically went from rythm games like pistol whip on day 1 to bunny hopping in HL2VR at retard speed a week later.

A friend has a Quest and as much fun as VR can be, seeing his gay Metaverse avatar in the menu screen makes me cringe a little every time I see it. Who the fuck thought this looked good? I play minigolf with /vrg/ but I'm too out of shape to play much else. Games are easy to pirate but so far most of the best ones can't be played online. Meta has a referral program to get $30 towards games each time you or a friend buys a headset so that could help for online games.

not until full body tracking can be done with just the headset. i think the quest can do hand tracking and some basic leg stuff, but it's all rudimentary.
