Want to make some rooms for you and anons to play?
Go to "friends", "Register a Friend" and add the friend code of the host. Press a and then b to back out to the wifi menu, then go back to "Friends", "Find a Friend" and click them. You should now be in the lobby and should wait for others. Eazy! Btw for anyone wanting to make a open lobby in this game, just go to friends, and press the + button. read the message and select ok. just post your friend code in the thread and others can join.
(note: if it says "unable to join" the lobby is currently racing, you need to wait some minutes for the races to finish and the lobby to open again)

Here's a guide for people who want to play RetroRewind 6 on Dolphin but faced bugs when following the steps in the OP. This assumes you have a working version of Dolphin. (as
in, you can launch the vanilla MKWii ISO without issues)

The volume mixing for Retro Rewind's built-in music feels very off. I ended up turning it off in settings to play my own custom music.

Just unpack the .zip file and then load it.

Works with online. Keep in mind that this pack is very primitive; I don't know how to swap the audio and icons of the custom characters from the originals, and the only one that has custom audio for whatever reason is Osaka. If someone wants to edit it to fix the audio and icons feel free to do so.

I've played for a few hours with it and noticed nothing out of the ordinary, with exception of >>714005792 where the game would crash on me upon the map being loaded.
I have no fucking idea why or what caused it to happen. After fucking around with it for 1 hour I only managed to crash it during the lobby match and once while playing Grand Prix, then never again. I even checked all characters in Time Trials and even did a bunch of Grand Prix rounds (Thank god the map is the first race) and not once did it crash on me. The only thing I can think of is that it might just barely go over the polygon count where the game can't handle it anymore, but I have no knowledge in MKWii hacking so I can't confirm this.

For bikes, it simply merges auto and manual drift, hence "hybrid". But for Karts, it makes their driftless turns inside drifts like bikes, while keeping the outside drift mechanics for their proper drifts. Combined with the addition of pink miniturbo boosts, karts actually stand a chance against bikes now.

Not that I know of. I just get my friends together on Parsec and we play. I use the Fortune Street 2 Rolling Again mod and Custom Street that adds like 50+ different boards. It's just getting 4 of us interested and willing to set aside around 2 hours to get a session in.
