Believe me or not: I am the developer of a popular and successful indie game which I will not name to avoid derailment. I had it localized into several languages including Japanese, and I made it a point to provide the localization team with the full English script in an autistically-formatted document which broke out every single line of dialogue in conversation blocks with full context notes. For example, two characters have this cryptic exchange about something the player is not clued into yet:

You can translate this without context, but in a language like Japanese, the meaning is probably going to be lost. So in a column next to those lines, I had this:

The feedback from the localizers was that they had never received anything like this before and that it saved them an immense amount of time because they barely had to ask any questions. Ultimately, it was important to me for the localizations to be well done, and it took that extra effort for me as the author to presuppose that any line of dialogue could potentially be ambiguous and therefore needed clarification. For future projects, I also want to include an ESL script option that is still English but highly simplified, and I expect that sort of thing would be difficult to pull off well without my methodology.

In order to get a better translation than a current model AI, unless you are dealing with hyper technical, specifically dated, or dialectical language, you have to go to a PHD who dedicates their life to translating that language. You can't even imagine how much that would cost, and paying someone who just knows the two languages fluently will be lower quality by far, cost infinitely more, and take months. All you need is someone who can look over it and make sure that it isn't totally fucked or refused to translate something.
Translation is literally the single thing that these AI language models are best at, complaining about it is insane.

Like if a game has a concept called "The Gate," the AI might obfuscate when characters are talking about The Gate, because it'll translate it as "the door" or "the fence" or whatever if it doesn't have context. No, it is an easy job.
Good translators aren't doing video games, they are doing business facing translation, be it contracts, direct translations, negotiation, or just regular ol transcendence, but they are not doing fucking video games.

the people doing this do it because they cannot get a job doing actual lucrative translation as a LOT of people so video games and other media where its less critical get absolute dogwash quality. Movies too, they usually fucking suck at their jobs.
