You have Idira and a Raven, allegedly your team is all forced together. You should be able to easily get into half/full cover get a dodge bonus on every and get the cover bonus from strategist. If you built Cassia correctly the bonus should be far higher than that anyway. There's really no excuse for you getting hit by these turrets. Abelard should be at the point where he just stops taking damage and Cassia should be nearly immortal unless focused down.

Either way bladedancer is a really good starting class because it fulfills its purpose so much better than most other classes. Soldier is just kind of mid, operative is really lame in my humble opinion, officer is the only other starting class that works as well as bladedancer but it's much more passive in nature, warrior gets mogged so hard by bladedancer you might as well never pick it again.

The best defensive option in the game remains killing shit before it can do anything. In the rare cases that isn't possible you have a wide variety of debuffs that positively cripple enemy capabilites to near useless levels. For the prologue and Act 1 you got Abelard, though you can alpha strike by late Act 1 already so I refer to the beginning of my post.

What are some "must get" generic talents that every class gets? I personally always pick the ones that remove Melee Superiority and shit but there might be some sleeper good ones.

You position your dudes far back enough so whoever beat your initiative has to waste time walking to you. The only fight in Act 1 where that didn't really work was the one just before Aurora, and since Lex Imperialis nerfed that to the ground it's not an issue anymore.
I will say though I don't think I had many Act 1 fights where I didn't win out on initiative on the relevant characters. And as I said, Abelard is more than enough of a meatshield for Act 1, and then you retire him by Act 2.

Well, the Thessaria quest was cool, though I feel like it resolved a tad too quickly. The build up was good, and then it's all over in 15 minutes. Classic owlcat, bungling the ending. On to act 3. And I will reiterate how I fell it would have been more appropriate for a wfrp setting. The vibe clashes with the rest of the game

From what I've gathered, the Overseer is really cool, but Solomorne and the dlc quests aren't as good as Void Shadows. Which is a really high bar tbf.

The raid of the ship is excellent.
And Feudal world is pretty unique.
It just lacks the ongoing saga of the genestealers and something like the climax of Kib's pesonal quest Undying Emperor popping up.
Solomorne is a different brand of Lawtist than Jimmy and he has plenty of reactivity (including in Void Shadows) but his romance is more of a speedrun apparently (haven't done it).

Finally, while Overseer archetype is not as strong as Bladedancer/executioner, it's still good and Arbites origin is interesting
If Void Shadows is a 9, I'd give this an 8.
