Nothing worse than a game that's not hard but the death comes from things you don't know would happen. Dying to a fish that's just part of the background is lame because the only reason you died to it was not knowing. Same goes for dark souls. Not knowing the dragon has a super super combo isn't good design. Good design is super mario wonder where you can see the obstacle coming and you can react to it and if you're good enough you can win first try

In literally what fucking part of Crash is there an obstacle that looks like a background element
Crash 1 is rough for a lot of reasons but conveyance is literally never one of them

All games are trial and error to some extent, because the first time you play anything, you donโ€™t know what to fully expect.

Thatโ€™s what made those games great anon. Old games had satisfying difficulty because you slowly went through each level and learned through repetition. You learned how to cross obstacles and what to avoid by doing it over and over. And by the time you got to the last level you were a master at those first few levels that beat your ass for days when you first got the game. I much prefer that design to modern rollslop โ€œdifficultyโ€

Trial and error is the worst game design ever
It should be reactive and skill based not
Oh you died due to lack of info? Fuck you play the whole Level again from scratch so we can say our game is longer than 2h because we inflated the completion time with bs

Didn't save it.

Crash is fun but only on emulation due to save states in literally hitting f5 ever 3 jumps

Zoomers will really do anything in their power to blame the game and not their lack of skill.
