Gaming graphics are improving and only a turbo contrarian or a resolutionlet says otherwise. The only problem is that it's improving too slowly and with 0 thought put into making it performant.

Crysis 1 graphics look good as long as you keep your distance or don't move too much. When you move you notice the vegatation moves at lower FPS, the antialiasing solutions don't work properly, and the environmental models are low-poly.
Which is very normal for a 2008 game, it looks amazing for a 2008 game, but if you actually compare it side by side to modern games it's clearly a product of the past.

anyway, youre literally overinspecting some BACKGROUND trees in far distance that arent even presented as the main focus. Its the final PS3 souls game so they had to take some shortcuts somewhere. Otherwise the game is amazing when youre not nitpicking some LOD trees across the map

DS2 is just broadly much more inconsistent with weirdly bad textures and models for stuff and overall pretty bad lighting, while having a few nice scenes of good lighting like your webm. i just felt like DS2 felt so cheap and plastic compared to the look of DS1
