>anon still hasn't switch to oled
Color and saturation aren't the problem with LED, it's backlight bleed. You can get just as good color and saturation between LED and OLED. It's dark scenes that are the issue.
With an LED monitor you have 4 light zones.
With an OLED monitor you have millions of light zones because each pixel creates its own light source. On a 4K OLED, there are 8,294,400 light zones.
On an LED, with the monitor turned on, during a black screen. this is what it looks like (it varies monitor to monitor).
On an OLED, with the monitor turned on, during a black screen, it looks like the monitor is off. It's pure black. This creates an infinite level of contrast per pixel which creates some insane visuals, especially in mixed light environments like Cyberpunk.
People that are worried about burn in; even though it's not really an issue anymore because of different monitor software techniques, if you can afford $1000/year, you could just buy a new monitor every year.
I LOLED, if that's what you mean.
>>714037795 (OP)I bought a CRT TV because i'm too poor for OLED.
>>714037795 (OP)>comparison is always about color saturation>i can see both versions just fine thoughGuess I'm already on an OLED?
OLED is tranny tech
HDR is tranny tech
240hz is tranny tech
>>714039181That's basically as good as OLED just smaller
>>714039227What about higher definition video output makes one chop their dick off?
>>714039195It's like watching a VHS video within a VHS video.
It's even worse.
>have a custom screensaver that only shows up on the OLED
>shows a fullscreen black image
>doesn't go away unless you move the mouse to that screen
>sometimes turn my screen off because you can't tell if it's on or not just by looking at it
Why would you ever buy LCD in 2025?
>>714039495because I'm poor as fuck and OLED is too expensive
>>714039975Then use the LCD you already have. Save up for OLED instead, it's worth it.
>>714040075I've wanting to own an OLED tv ever since they first came out to the market but every time I see the prices, I can't justify buying one, no matter how beautiful and great they are
>>714040203Literally just save up 5 years for one.
>>714040247I can do that but I'm also afraid of the burn in
even my laptop's ips screen got a burn in for some fucking reason
I can see the windows' taskbar icons when I hide it
>>714040353Luckily for you by the time you save up the money, QDEL will be out on the market and those don't burn in.
>>714037795 (OP)I'm still playing at 1080p 60hz and I haven't yet seen any significant difference made by 'better' tech. Past that point it all looks exactly the same, it's just snake oil.
>>714040409we'll see what happens
I want to buy a new monitor but I'm still unsure what to get so I'm just saving money for now
>>714037795 (OP)Left has more soul
>>714039181Hello, based department? I think you're gonna like this.
>>714040426It's not about resolution, it's about having the black color instead of a grayish shit.
You can "go back" and get a CRT monitor and get better colors/blacks etc.
>>714040558Save your money, everything out right now has problems. QDEL is going to be here in 5-10 years max, and that is like OLED without the burn in and heat issues.
>I'm still unsure what to get1440p minimum
HDR1000 minimum
240hz minimum
You don't think you need those last two, but you do. 2D games easily run at 240hz and turning off HDR is easily the biggest upgrade in visuals that has ever happened, even more than HD.
>>714040862what I mean by "unsure what to get" is that I don't know if I should got for IPS or OLED
of course my intention is to get a 2K 180Hz minimum
>>714037973Non-problem in newer models
>>714041013Just save up and wait for QDEL
OLED burns in no matter what and LCD is pathetic compared to what new tech can do
>>714041113are they gonna be cheaper than OLEDs?
>>714041264No, but you're saving up so it should be fine.
>>714041138Given it is a massive array of tiny ass CRTs, it probably don't have the issues of LCD.
I love soul fog. Fuck oled and hdr. You didn't really beat it.
I purchased and returned multiple OLED and MiniLED monitors. This is the one I stayed with.
Originally I purchased the glossy version of this monitor and after 1 minute boxed it back up and sent it back because I couldn't deal with the reflection.
This is the matte version and it's the best monitor I have ever purchased.
You will have to mess with the User profile and turn off some 'safety' features to get the brightness up, but it's absolutely great.
>>714039049>People that are worried about burn in; even though it's not really an issue anymore because of different monitor software techniquesYou faggots need to stop spreading misinformation. Burn-in is a problem, it always will be, because it's a limitation of the technology. Every OLED monitor will have visibly burned pixels after a few weeks if you test it with certain homogeneous colors. There's no way around it (even if monitors force you to use various settings to prevent it). The only consolation is that for normal use (e.g., watching movies), these burned pixels will be basically imperceptible, even after years. But if you work 8 hours a day on your PC, then you will start to notice it, especially when you are not consuming audio-visual content..
>>714040565what do you mean?
when my monitor is black I see black
do you guys play in a brightly lit room or something?
>>714042159https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc9WTIpaBZg
You're just wrong nigger. There's been a ton of research done on this.
>>714042164>do you guys play in a brightly lit room or something? No. And the problem is even worse in the dark.
>>714041103Itโs a non-problem in older models too. Iโve been using my vita for 13 years and thereโs no burn in (obviously, because I havenโt left it displaying the same screen for hundreds of hours consecutively).
i aint spending money when my monitor is still perfectly serviceable
>>714042084I bought the same monitor and absolutely love it.
>>714040075>save>>714040247>>714040409>>714040862>>714041113>Just save your moneyWhat if I don't make any money?
>>714037795 (OP)There is no such thing as an "LED" monitor.
>>714037795 (OP)Motion blur.
No thanks.
Still using my Panasonic plasma and will stay with it until they come up with a superior replacement, which they haven't yet.
>>714037973+ motion blur
+ ABL can't be disabled
+ Blue LED's degrade faster than the red/green ones
+ VRR Flickers like a motherfucker
+ Absurd price
+ Extremely short shelf life
i'm on lcd and i can see the right image just fine though?
Oled are for enthusiasts and the differences compared to a cheaper led tv are basically negligible now. We've reached a point where local dimming is so good that it's fine for 99% of people. Oled does have way better viewing angles though.

>>714042084>Originally I purchased the glossy versionDid you just happen to buy that version, or was there a reason for it? Were you expecting something else, maybe?
Didn't look but I bet the thread has at least 15 retarded posts mentioning burn in.
>>714046483>motion blur>in a fucking OLED
Completely anecdotal, but I've been using an oled monitor for maybe 3 years now and there isn't a hint of burn in. It does a have a dead pixel though, but I've had those on all kinds of monitors.
What is this that people are saying about motion blur? This is the clearest monitor I've ever used in terms of motion clarity, I thought oleds were known for that?
I'm not gonna say its must have or that its perfect, I've had issues with VRR, and that dead pixel, but it is pretty fucking nice overall
>>714051171Yes, that anon is being fucking retarded.
>>714051171Theres a few oled anti trannys using linux and tn monitors seething whenever someone can afford what they cant.
And one of them keep saying oled have worse motionhandling than ips in dark content which is false unless were talking about phones on 10% or lower brightness.
>>714037795 (OP)Switch 2 doesn't have OLED and it still destroys Steam Deck OLED, steamie.
>>714055115The switch 2 gets destroyed by the switch 1 in motion clarity.
>OP still hasn't learned English or how to defecate in a toilet
>>714055146Damn that better be a good ass hdr oled tv. Can't you get a good one closer to $1000?
>never buy LED
>already have 0LED
I was one step ahead.
>>714040862Oleds are cooler operating then LCD's.
why do all OLEDs look kinda orange?
don't like it
>>714037795 (OP)I'm not paying for your "soul" filter, thank you.
>>714039049>turn LD on>bleeding is goneYou were saying?
Also, OP is faggot, you can have exactly the same picture on IPS with miniLED and HDR
OLED is only good on TV's for movies. Gaming is abysmal on OLED not only because of burn-ins but because you need to sit in darker room like a monitor bitch you are, while with IPS you can sit on your balcony, enjoying sun and gaming at the same time.
