Blue Shellos/Gastrodon looks better, but Pink Shellos/Gastrodon is more iconic and obtainable earlier.

trade one blue to my recently started file
When I was in middle school playing Pearl I caught a pink one early in the game. I thought it was extremely cute was determined to keep it in my team without evolving it because I thought Gastrodon was ugly.
Eventually I got to the end of Victory Road with my juiced-up team plus my pitiful Shellos. There was a Waterfall obstacle, which was the only HM no one on my team knew. I bit the bullet and used a Rare Candy on Shellos so it would evolve and learn Waterfall, because I was too lazy to go through the dungeon again.
I still regret doing it, Gastrodon is so fucking ugly.
