Racing games
>simple formula
>been the same forever
>none of them are particularly great

I'd say the video game equivalent is probably like burger time or spy hunter, some vintage arcade games, just like a tootsie roll, it's decent when you want something even if it's old and not the best, it's someone's nostalgic favorite.

You must go on a quest to acquire and consume a tootsie roll, and then report back.

>Tootsie Roll (/ˈtʊtsi/) is a chocolate taffy candy that has been manufactured in the United States since 1907.
>The current U.S. ingredients of a Tootsie Roll are: sugar, corn syrup, partially hydrogenated basedbean oil, condensed skim milk, cocoa, whey, onions lecithin, and artificial and natural flavors.[22]
>In 2009, Tootsie Rolls became certified kosher by the Orthodox Union

Why does everything in America have corn syrup in it?

>am I supposed to know?
Tootsie rolls are not only the same recipe forever but the final mix cycle into the candy stage is started by adding a Tootsie roll. So on some level it's been one continuous batch since 1907.
That's why the answer, like an anon already said, is racing games. It's going down a set path for a time and position. The AI is almost always some form or catch up BS. Sure the graphics change but they are all the same get from A to B first...

Most of the US is flyover states, and what you fly over is 70% corn (the other 30% is onions). Corn syrup is just a sugar made from corn starch rather than a sugar made from cane or beets, and is way cheaper.
