There are dozzens of different sub stats that aren't visible, but thus far (as of two weeks ago, at least) the community discovered that Baby Blooper is best for drift boosting or something. Not that it matters, the game is unplayable right now until Nintendo adds a new mode with just full tracks.

After trying hours of my usual low-accel/high-speed, and then trying the opposite, I am convinced Nintendo reversed them.

In a high-accel/low-speed kart I can frontrun an entire knockout effortlessly, doing nothing but driving in a straight line and maintaining speed by avoiding as many sharp turns and tricks as possible. When I do the same thing, just hammer down in a high speed kart, other drivers pass me without mushrooms. It makes absolutely no sense.

I picked Toadette in the Baby Blooper and I immediately won 4 worldwides in a row after not winning any at all previously in my entire time playing the game

toadette has highest road speed in her weight class, baby blooper has highest road speed in its class. high road speed + good accel (which is also MT duration in this game) and handling (extremely important in this game due to all the sharp turns and alt routes and getting on rails)
