Why do all games have to be 100+ hours long nowadays?

It gets really tiring when every game is a huge commitment
Anonymous No.714066726 [Report]
the vast majority of people don't beat 100+ hour long games, but it allows them to frontload the game so that they'll leave a positive review since they'll assume the rest of the game is just as good
it's also ideal for both casuals and hardcore gaymers alike, since the former can chip away at it over months and the latter can play it for ages

Same reason why they require 100GB on average, to live rent free in your SSD.

they are just as long but have an extra 80 hours of padding. Most games in pic are jrpgs though which are the kings of wasting your time and drip feeding the plot

I think he has a point, Take CP2077 or Kingdom Come Deliverance (1) for example, these are great rpgs but they don't have 100+ hours of content baked into them

no rpgs before ps2 took 100 hours just to beat normally

You could play something without a story. Why aren't you?

Good RPG length is around 30 hours, give or take.

I dont mind spending 100 hours on a game
Its just having to do that just to beat it once
Id much rather have a 5 hour game fun enough to replay 20 times
Anonymous No.714067781 [Report] >>714067813
nobody is forcing you to complete the side quests.
the main story is usually under 30 hours, stop being tarded.

You didn't answer my question at all. I'm filtering this thread now. I need to go look at these ten threads full of shitskin NPCs aka the threads that weren't auto filtered, and I need to manually filter them. You poopjeets can spend 100 hours on 4chan complaining about 100 hour games or whatever you zero self-awareness sub-humans get up to.

>just rush through the game bro
at that point id rather just watch a lets play on 2x speed

you arent rushing anything, the main quest is the story and where all the effort has gone. the side quests are generated slop.
stop being tarded

>100 hours of mindnumbingly boring shit good actually
Good RPGs will have AT BEST a 40 hours long campaign, the best RPGs are those that have 10-20 hours or so long campaigns that you can replay for hundreds of hours without getting bored due to the depth of their systems, not dogshit like Larian or Owlcat games that bombard you with pointless filler and busywork to inflate your runs' playtime.
