Doesn't the game let you do no damage run at level 1, as long as you just parry everything? Hell, you can even dodge. I haven't played it myself, but from what I've seen, not only it lets you do ridiculous JRPG damage numbers by running glass cannon builds, but it also lets you get away scott free with it, because the battle system lets you negate all damage with player inputs. Whilst normally RPGs are stat checks.

There's also the shields safety net. They can allow you tank any amount of damage, as long as it's a single hit.
