No. A Japanese Asscreed was the break glass emergency, and they fucked it up in every way possible and beyond what anyone could have imagined.
Now they're just trying to sell the last game they made that anyone actually liked AGAIN.

Ubisoft Singapore is making the Black Flag remake. They spent too long working on Skull and Bones, so they plan on repurposing assets made from that game to use in the Black Flag remake. It'll be a quick and easy way for them to make some money.

i do hope their remake will contain stuff which didnt make it into the og game back then iam cautios optimistic but will look forward perhaps thats a small step to regain some goodwill but iam still skeptic, ill give them a chance but wont buy till somebody made a complete playthrough which i will watch ofc

I would rather the fallen-from-graces studios of current year - Bethesda, Ubisoft, Activision, etc. - just make remakes of old good games instead of churning out new trash because I genuinely do not have any confidence in them making anything new that is also good, and I don't care if it's unoriginal if the alternative is original slop

Everyone will realize black fag wasn't actually good, it was just novel. I replayed it recently and without the novelty element it's just not very good at all. The story is very poorly told as well, when you already know where it's heading you notice how clumsy it is

Black Flag is perfectly playable still

Eh, it's very obvious now that the ship stuff is 100% dependent on how much you leveled the ship, rather than skill. The towns are also the ugliest of all AC games. As is the on-foot combat.

If the remake makes the naval combat more skill based, and also improves on the towns and melee, then I'd say it's a worthy remake.

More like braindead. They looked so difficult at the time when I was underleveled, then I leveled up and I could take on three at once no problem (especially by abusing the fact that if you board a ship, the others stop attacking you).

Replaying it now it absolutely doesn't feel as good as it used to.

Did people really like Black Flag back in the day? All I remember is people trashing it due to the "annual Assassin's Creed" meme.

The fact that the devs will use Anvil is a good sign that the remake won't be utter shit like oblivion.

That being said I wouldn't put it past them to use UE5.

Black fag was I stopped following assassin creed. I played it a few weeks after launch. I liked it, but I didnt have the same drive to play it like I did with brotherhood and up to 3.
