F-ZERO GX is the most overrated racing game of all time. GXfags only prop it up so hard because it's a Nintendo game. Most of them have never touched another racer that isn't a kiddie kart game like MK, CTR, or Lego Racers.

You really shouldn't make generalisations of the people that enjoy a 20 year old game.
GX is one of my favourites. Outside of that I enjoyed Burnout and the criterion NFS games and some extreme sports ones like SSX but that whole era of racing felt like it vanished.
FAST racing and GRIP was alright.
I generally prefer not to play kart racers with random items..
the DIRT series and Forza horizon was kind of interesting but got old quickly.
I meant to get wreckfest at some point but never did.
I hate hyper realistic simulation games.

GX is the Melee of racing games. It's janky, it's broken, it's full of semi-unintended stuff- as in, either intended mechanic pushed way beyond intended power (like snaking), or unintended mechanic embraced and kept in the game (like shift boosting)- and that's what makes it good. "Naive" FZGX is actually kinda meh, there are better racing games than it if you don't go into the wacky stuff, just like there are better platform fighters than Melee if you don't engage with its systems.

to make the game easier you either cheat with a custom vehicle, or you use captain falcon max speed and you opposite trigger before turning, then turn + trigger in the direction youre going

turn left = R, left + L

these fast turns dont lose speed and will carry through the whole game. but the story mode in very hard, even some in hard, is pretty tough and will require some tryharding

burnout 1 is a straight unashamed clone of an obscure japanese arcade game called thrill drive. basically the entire franchise is a ripoff. ea can never do anything original.
it was also really boring. i remember hearing all this great shit about it and trying it out and it was slow and dull, and looked like a dreamcast game and it's not even fun to crash into stuff because you get reset. when people when on about the great collision physics and deformation i thought it would be like a destruction derby game but no it's a normal, very basic and dull racing game with overly dramatic and annoying crash cutscenes.

There's so many racing games that are better I barely even know where to begin. Ballisticng is a better AG racer than fzeroGX, burnout is a better designed arcade racing series, txr drift 2, dirt rally, pgr 4 are better if you extend the net to include simcade and then Asetto Corsa and a billion other sim racers are more fun when you include the entire sim array.

From what I heard AX plays differently (it plays with a wheel after all) than GX so balancing both version with the same physic could have been difficult for them.
That could explain why GX is completely full of game breaking bugs that ruins it entirely in my strong opinion. I have no idea how anyone can defend this game, people say those mechanics are intended, but I don't buy it for a single second, if GX was made during the internet, I'm sure they would have patch out snaking and MTS out of the game, at the very least.

It's always cool to play a bunch of different games by other devs, and then "come back" to Nintendo and feel how rock solid, polished and well designed they are in comparison. People go on and on about how "it's just nostalgia", and how you'd see how much better other things are once you give them a chance etc. but going back to Nintendo games I played as kid years later it's shocking how they play more or less exactly how I remember and how much they make everything else feel like slop in comparison. I honestly wouldn't blame anyone for just sticking with Nintendo and giving no crap about the rest of the industry, not because other worthwhile games don't exist, but because Nintendo are so good I can see why someone might honestly rightly just not care.
