>>714080000Ok, lets do basic economics. Wani sells for about 20 bucks. 30% cut from steam, so we're down to 14 bucks per, at the best of situations. Assuming you sell 10k copies, at full price, which likely will not happen as steam sales are often your best bet to make a large ammount of cash, you acquire 14k dollars. Lets say they also get 10% cut from taxes, so we're down to 14k-1.4, so about 12.6k
The average 7.25 federal makes it so yearly you do 15,080 a year. If they sold about 10k copies, they made less than 1 year of federal minimum wage, while having several artists and coders working for them for over a year. Even if you triple or quadruple this, you reach the conclusion that, even if the team was merely 4 people, which it doesn't seem to be the case, the studio would have made the federal minimum wage for each person, and studios can't afford literally or figuratively to operate in this fashion, they need a cash supply to do anything, so no, they didn't make bank.
Even if you make it 100k copies, its 10 years of min wage, and that's not moolah to make anything major, that's scrapping by. That's not afford to keep people working full time for several years, that's at most part time for a few guys and pay per gig. The plushies and merch probably sold better desu.
