I dunno about prime 4 though. 2 and 3 were kind of shit, and even 1 got a bit tiresome at points. I'm not convinced 4 is even going to be that good, I haven't seen anything yet that has really made me think I'm going to have a particularly good time playing it

First party wise you have DKB and Mario Party in July, Kirby in August and Pokémon in October. Nothing else with 2025 has a release date so if I were betting, it would be after July so they can show off new Kirby content and give another batch of games release dates (likely closing the year out). Pokémon will probably have it's own direct.

The mixed reaction was largely based on "It's fun but I don't know how engaging this will be long term" but they also only played the tutorial level, so before the game actually introduces these features shown in the direct such as the RPG skill tree, the transformations, the 2D sections, etc. So they only saw one type of gameplay and lacking any further knowledge assumed that that's all there is.

Donkey Kong is not fun, I strongly encourage anyone considering preordering it to at least try the demo at your local Target or Best Buy. It is not fun, it is nothing more than a dumbed down Mario Odyssey for even younger kids. Hopefully Metroid is good, they need a good game other than Mario Kart.

When does Metroid 4 come out?

I thought 1 and 2 were good, and Dread was too. I got filtered by the bird at the end though.

Other M was godawful. I don't think I ever got around to 3.

Super Metroid is an all time favorite for me. The remake of Prime 1 was also a nice bit of nostalgia.

I figure with 4 being in development hell for so long, and how they pivoted halfway and just started over, they must have a plan to make it good.
