Fair warning though if you're missing promotion items there's a solid chance the ones you can buy here might be the last one of its type in the entire game. If you need to promote someone still and you don't have an item to do so, it's probably worth selling stuff to afford it.

Douglas won't attack Elphin if you can lure him into a one-tile choke and block it with him. He also has incredibly shit accuracy. On my last run I had my Dorothy dodge tank him for the whole time and she only got hit twice.

On my last run I had a pretty good promoted Clarine that I used to bait out the Berserk and the first bolting, but I still got fucked by the other one near the top, and the Silence. Cecilia died to the light arrows which can crit you btw when I was almost done. It wasn't an ironman, but I would have said fuck it if I hadn't left her holding the knight crest from two chapters ago.

I am a bit confused about the range of the berserk staff. On the help popup it says the range is Mag. Does that mean the range is literally his magic stat? In which case it's 20. Absolutely fucked up.

Wiki says it's Magic/2 + 5, which would give 15. I haven't done FE6 in a while so I don't know if that's right.
I do know that baiting won't always work, however. If you have too much Resistance and the staff has a really low chance of hitting, the enemy won't try to Berserk you and waste shots.
In that same run later on in Ilia, there was a druid who just refused to fire at Clarine, even when I parked her well within his range and she was the only target. Anyone else, he'd Berserk right away, but not her.

Yeah it seems to be 15 based on the staff range the game is showing me. Unfortunately though, the range it shows me is larger than his ACTUAL range, since it assumes he's able to move, which he isn't.

Yeah, the game doesn't tell you about the staff range thing I don't think. You can also only toggle it back to attack range while selecting an enemy unit, even though it applies to your units as well. Just a little quirk of FE6.
I've gotten fucked over more than once by not counting the right number of squares away from a stationary boss when trying to figure out his actual range...

I hate that I have to fucking ask this here, but does anyone know where I can find a completed save file for FE4? I want to try clever mode and I can't find fucking shit using search engines.
