Capcom devs are fucked in the head. Imagine having an iconic character like Akuma and then you "update" him and turn him into Ganondorf knockoff. Even in Monster Hunter they used that model instead of the real Akuma. This mentality is also the same reason why they changed the iconic design of Chris Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy. Capcom already made them mainstream when they released several RE animated movies only to replace their face with a shoddy face scan in the newer games. Even fucking Nemesis is a victim of this shit with the random nose and trashbag design.

Unpopular opinion but all the Street Fighter games kind of sucked until Street Fighter IV came around. Only viable characters were like Ryu and Akuma and all the others were gimmick characters.
