Is The Wonderful 101 really the best action game, the most intricate, detailed, complex and difficult arcade game ever made? Looks like a clusterfuck

Yep! You should buy it right now

Yeah it's great
Filtered retards will tell you otherwise.

>game consistently breaks its own rules
>looks like shit
>unskippable cutscenes
>blocks visuals with retarded story segments
>nonstop gimmicky minigames that are defended because it's a heckin reference
>game actively teaches you incorrectly, like with the first portrait cut-in with lambo
etc etc

It's really not that complex, it's just really well designed with an unique combat system that takes time to learn.

That being said, it's worth playing at least once for the very funny, very hype and SOVLFVL campaign, but to take it seriously as an action game would be like taking Itagaki as a serious developer

It's good but people here made it out to be better than it was to justify their Wii U purchases.

When Platinum bought the publishing rights off Nintendo and rereleased it as a multiplat it didn't get half the praise.

Its boring, I refunded it 30 mins into it. You would have to be a Nintendo fanboy to enjoy this tripe. Thank God that Steam won the culture war.

A lot of jaded schizo thirdies would say the game is reddit cringe but it's a solid action title with a decent learning curve. It is stupid that the block feature isn't a part of your default kit. If you never check the shop, you could start to get filtered by cannon enemies where you can easily beat them by reflecting shots with a timed block.

It’s good but every time I want to revisit it, I feel like I have to play through the whole thing again before my muscle memory kicks in because of how unique it is
I think that’s a pro and con of the length
On one hand, it gives you plenty of time to adjust and learn
On the other, it’s a 10-20 hour playthrough just because of how long it is
I can beat dmc1 like 2 or 3 times in the time it takes me to play 101 once

It's a nice time but I'd play through DMC and Bayo first to see if you like that combat style enough for the novelty of 101 to be a draw for you.

It's a niche game for a niche audience, but it's still one of my favorites. The controls definitely take some getting used to, but if you can get past that, it's a blast.
