I love how everything Nintendo did was a gimmick until it was incorporated by everyone else. Now people swear by things like gyro controls as if they didn't hate it in the beginning. I liked the "gimmicks" since at least they were trying to do something interesting. I just wish they tried doing VR or something since they were the only ones I can think of that could have made it work.

It's fine though. I'm passing on the Switch 2 but it's not as if Nintendo is hurting by me not buying it anyway.

Nintendo hate was the biggest force thing I've ever seen. People with a cool head could see how ridiculous it is to complain that old ports of games by third parties wouldn't sell well when the console had only been out for 2-3 weeks but every dramatuber ran with this as a talking point as to why Switch 2 is failing. You might have a point if it was actually new games by third parties but these are old ports of games that people probably already played before. Like seriously? Did they do this with any other console launch before or are they doing this because Switch drama is hot in the alogrithm? This is like condemning your baby for not being able to walk once out of the womb and saying they have not future prospects in life to their face. People are too terminally online that they regurgitate the same news as fact without even thinking about the content or context behind it.

Yeah but there is no difference playing those Switch 1 titles on the Switch 2 because none of them have an unlocked framerate and Nintendo will never do something like what Microsoft did with FPS boost where they allow for those older, formerly 30 fps capped games to run at 60 on the new hardware free of charge. Nintendo wants you to buy that BOTW 60 fps remake for 80 bucks.

Even if it could actually run those games now on the Switch 2, it's not much of a brag to say that a brand new console is finally able to run games that already run like shit on the PS5 and Series X. Those consoles are nearing the end of their life cycles too, so once again Nintendo will be 2 console generations behind in terms of hardware performance.
