This is unlike the situation with win32 software on AMD64 where NT and GNU/Linux based systems are on relatively equal footing both needing to run a legacy compatibility layer that makes the obsolete VMS derived NT or UNIX based GNU/Linux look like legacy Windows.
As for software, it is only NT that is stagnant, abandoned, and rotting. GNU/Linux based OSes and the RadV driver keep getting better. Strix Halo can now use FSR 4 when used with modern GNU/Linux based OSes.
