Mori made a simple game that got people to play it due it being simple and mostly casuals playing it for shit like story mode, dubfaggotry or whatever non gameplay related reasons. Daisuke then saw that and tried making a simpler game that hopefully appealed to blazblue fags with Xrd and it's shitty newcomers but people didn't play just fellated it so they cut working on it early then made strive which he is happy with people actually playing instead of just sucking off on the internet. Some characters got a massive upgrade in SFV like Ryu, Cammy and Chun-li but a lot of the other ones hold up very well. Akuma in particular looks better in IV than he does in V, and ESPECIALLY 6

Off the top of my head I can also think of Haga Yui, the Black Lagoon guy, and Yuuji Himukai (Etrian Odyssey) who all did Darkstalkers stuff.

Calling Vane a "zoner" is a bit of a stretch but he's the one I like the most. Using a combination of shields and... the ground slash thing with a name I can't remember. Forcing people to approach you and then punishing them for it, especially if they jump.
