To be fair, a wall would take a lot more resources. An iron golem costs 36 iron ingots and a pumpkin.

I really wish villagers would repair their iron golems.
I also really wish them healing when sleeping in beds wasn't a bedrock only thing.
Oh and above all I wish villagers pathfinding was shit-aids, so they'd stop just falling to their deaths, leaving doors open when going home at night, standing on cacti, or swimming in lava.

Which mods? I'm slowly building my own custom mod pack and would love one that improves villager AI.
I already have one that makes smiths repair golems and priests heal other villagers.

second they start over worlds over and over again anyway. they in particular build nothing but copied farms off of youtube.
third they could easily overhaul everything and have temporary game rules that keep the old behavior for old worlds. which can be phased out later.

the strange part about that is 1.7.3 beta is seen as the peak despite having way less features, I think Minecraft worked alot better when there wasn't as much clutter.

really the game is in desperate need of a quality of life update, like dragon quest builders has auto sorting and actual teleportation, hell even tarria has that kind of stuff and that game is a cluster fuck of bloat.
