fuck that, buff infantry further, everyone still only goes knights/archers + trash unit/siege. If militia were to stay the way they were before but you could
>A
spam the shit out of them faster by making production faster tru the ages, if not slightly cheaper on the gold making the gold cost 15 or so
>B
they should all take less pop space, so along with with your standard knight/archer whatever shit you pull off militia line stays viable by the fact that instead of having 10 skirmishers/pikemen/hussars you could have 15 to 20 champs
>C
AoE2 was always meant to be a RPS with infantry-cav-archers, but militia line loses to both which is fucking retarded, militia line should get a +1 against cavalry per age or per upgrade, i'd go per age because its silly that only scouts, eagles, camels and sergeants get a bonus through aging up but militia, the only unit you can produce in the dark age stays the same shit.

Keep 2 out of 3 of these changes and militia line will stay relevant I just wanted to repost because I really think infantry needs 2 or so more changes to fully be relevant.

To prove a point to a friend (1000 ELO) of mine (1400), I limited myself to 1 click a second to demonstrate that understanding scouting, build orders and counters were more important than micro.
He was pretty angry that I beat him 2-0.

Age of Empires II was better before the steam releases when they added endless slop civ DLC packs

i think infantry is in a decent spot, but out of those suggestions the only one i may be ok with is the slight cost reduction or dropping training time by a second or two.

It just occured to me I've never done the campaigns in any of these games. I always just did deathmatch where you start with a bunch of resources.

wasn't literally huns vs huns every game back in voobly time? I agree tho that the game is kinda bloated on civs right now. And it makes new people entering the game harder and harder (might be their intention tho, because I think they see AoE4 as more profitable)

They are just essentially worthless, mass archers can dominate anything that isn't mass siege or maybe skirmishers, mass knights/hussars will outspeed anything and destroy your economy while they are untouchable unless you are a god at quickwalling.

I feel the best change they could get is have them always use less pop space, make it a 0.8 to 0.5 or so maybe staggering per age, be it that this stays exclusive to the militia line or by extend the pikemen (but I feel giving this to pikemen line would be cancer).
If you can have, either a unit which you can mass up double what you'd have for whatever trash you were going to fill your empty pop space, and as well just more units than your enemy despite knights/archers beating them, then at least you get to somewhat overwhelm the enemy by ALWAYS having more numbers, despite how shit the militia line is, just gold costing trash units that you can go over the 200 cap with.

THEN the militia line would get a good unique role, as much as them being way better against buildings is now as an additional role, it's useless to destroy a building when archers can simply stay out of range or knights can go around and kill your economy.

Vanilla =/= Conquerors.

Conquerors introduced bloodlines and halberdiers, which significantly nerfed frank pals.
