I've seen a couple of horror games from that region. While they looked like shit (imagine one of the million horror asset flip), some game design choices were questionable at best the fact it was based on a local folklore instead of relying on "thin tall pale creature jumpscares you" was pretty neat.

Our gaming industry over there is incredibly underdeveloped, most of the average people who grew up there were raised on multiplayer and online games as opposed to singleplayer experience games. Titles such as Red Alert, CS, Dota, HoN, and various other FPS games were incredibly popular but not things like Half-Life or Quake. Because of this, when they graduate or are ready to work they just get hired to work on unremarkable, but popular online games (shit like Arena of Valor for example.) Really right now I can only think of Home Sweet Home franchise, M.A.S.S Builder and that upcoming Front Mission clone from the Philippines that aren’t some online gookslop.

Can you explain one thing to me, I often see it and can't understand why. I was browsing some PH Technology forum, they all were discussing latest iphones and samsungs. But the language was weird: it was mixed local language and English, and not in any coherent (to me) way, but rather three words of local, and then two English, five local, one English, three local, seven English and so on. And not some specific English words, like tech terminology, but general everyday words like "store, paid, new, finally, arrived". And it's not Philippines only, I've seen it a lot in SEA-centric places.
