Are you still hanging in there, dogmablastbros? Do you still think there will be a dlc to fix the flaws & lack of content in DD2? It's been a rough year.

TGS? some think the 2 year anniversary, but I think that's pure cope. If it's not at TGS, there's a 90% chance it's not happening.

There's no fixing that shitshow. DD2 was an obvious beta test to see how the engine would fare with MH:Wilds and that failed too

mods have done some good stuff, so gameplay wise it can certainly be fixed. Story though, yeah that's a lost cause

I don't really know the company politics, development drama, other games that led to this or that etc.
But to my uninformed eyes it seems there won't be any DD2 DLC, Capcom is just going to ignore it as a failed venture and focus on successful IPs. Particularly Monster Hunter would suck up any attention they might otherwise give to DD2.
"Don't throw good money after bad"

Seems more likely there'll be a DD3 in 2037 than DLC.

dd1 had a ton of cut content they were able to slap together as BBI. While DD2 clearly has cut content, it might not be stuff that can be put together as a coherent expansion as easily as it was with BBI.

if Wilds selling over 10 million copies on launch day isn't a success, then how much of an utter failure is DD2 for taking over a year to sell just 3.7 million?

Only the most delusional contrarian would try and claim wilds wasn't a massive financial success for capcom, and they did it while releasing the game with fuck all content so they can sell even more as DLC.

I put probably around 700 hours into DD/DA
Got a Magick Archer dps meme build and an overpowered main pawn with a rusted bow status effect build.
There's not much more enjoyment I can get out of it. I mostly only boot it up to see my pawns once in a blue moon.
A small part of me wants to start a separate save file and make the lvl 5 staff of resurrection mage pawn build, collecting the items with my main save, but it'd feel like mostly busy work, and I don't know if there are enough new players to enjoy it.
Should I do it?

You head to the Dogma general /ddg/ and ask around or check the pastebins on the first post. But the tldr is download the Dogma Rising client (this one's balanced for solo play with no grinding), make an account (no email needed, just username and password) and start having fun.

I started a new DD2 playthrough at the weekend, having not touched the game since late last year. Within a couple nights I was already tired of the same few enemy types, always spawning in the exact same spots, being spammed every 20 meters. How did they not see this as a problem during development? I've worked professionally in game development for a few places, I just don't see how its possible that the team was ok with this. It's a huge obvious negative for the game that really hurts it.

Even weirder that some people actually defend it by comparing it to the 13 year old original as if games aren't supposed to get better after such a massive gap.

there are mods that fix that and I've heard a good part of the logic to support dynamic enemy spawns was already in place. They probably just had no time to fully implement and test it.

It was one of the most wanted improvements from DD1 too. Everybody was hyped for the sequel because they thought it was impossible to fuck up. Most improvements needed were "How did they not see this as a problem during development" tier and everyone assumed a budget cut short. But you know the rest.

>new game DD2
>loads of low lvl pawns in the rift with end-game gear

Whats the point? the game is already piss easy to the point of being a huge negative, so using OP pawns just makes the situation even worse

DD2 feels like they worked years on the skeleton of the game, then when they were actually going to start adding the meat Capcom set a deadline and rushed it out the door.

given that Wilds also released with very little content despite costing $70, and SF6 released with blatant cut content held back for DLC, DD2 being thread bare seems planned rather than just from being rushed.

The lauch was clearly rushed as well, but I doubt a few extra months in the oven would've made much difference in terms of how much content there is. Minimum content upon release seems to be a standard Capcom policy now, they're just a shitty low-effort publisher. Shame because they've clearly got some good devs on the actual development side.

I've always wondered if it's that Japanese culture thing where you're not allowed to question your boss even if they're a fucking moron.
so grunt level developers making the game knew it sucked but they have to be like
>oh yes boss more goblins what a great idea! truly a genius.

When do we think Itsunos new game will be revealed? it's supposed to be an AAA studio, so not mobile stuff.

I don't expect it to be a dogma-like, but would be pretty funny if it ended up basically being DD3 with a different name. It would pretty much confirm what he really thought about DD2 before leaving.
