the combat scenarios are similarly high quality compared to nioh, but there is definitely something a bit bland about the open world design (albeit still 100 times better than something like ghost of tsushima). feels like a bit of a "growing pains" title to gain institutional knowledge of open world design and get their engine ready for nioh 3 and beyond, while still shipping a flawed but competent product.

It's incredibly fun. If you have a good PC and shitty optimization isn't an issue you can definitely sink some hours into it. I don't think the combat is as deep as nioh but you have a ton of options and the pace of combat is incredibly fast. In that sense it's very addictive and parry focused with tons of options for flair and combat variety

Not OP, but I wouldn't even know where to go anymore. All the old places I knew are either taken down or blocked by the IPs over here, or you find one and then it gets taken down soon after. You can still use magnet links and probably a VPN obviously, but I just gave up personally.

Since there is not demo, I would suggest pirating and trying it out before buying. It's not the same as nioh combat wise and you might end up dissappointed. I know I was.

It's great. Feels like a ps2 game released in 2024 in the best way possible. Priority is gameplay and fun. Feels like ghost of tsushima but good. Very gamey

I haven't really been paying attention to new game prices here since the only new titles I bought were more reasonably priced, but that's crazy. 120 is like what Ultimate Deluxe Edition prices used to be not even that long ago, now the Ultimate Deluxe stuff is like $150-200.

Anyway, I don't think it's worth more than $20 Australian personally. The bossfights are really good and the game is beautiful with a great soundtrack, but the open world that takes up a significant portion of the game is complete garbage and the "stealth" sections are very mediocre. I like the customisation and storytelling bits too, but they're not remotely good enough to play solely for that.

Unironically all open world games that focus on open world are garbage. Ronin has some 300 or so bosses if you count the encounters and they're all a ton of fun so I agree on that. No game is worth this money though

I was only talking about the major bosses more like the blue demon mask guy, sorry. The open world does have some decent ones and a few cool encounters, but I wouldn't count the reskinned big enemy type bosses among the ones I called good.

I think I found even the open world bosses very enjoyable. Reskinned yes but despite being kinda shallow the combat is very addictive where I just wanted more fights. Don't think I did any stealth section, I just went in loud in every encounter
